European Great Danes and puppies
Great Danes... They are huge, they are sweet, they are heavy, they are tender, they are drooley, they are cosy, they are smart and they are goofy. They are respectful Aristocrats, full of dignity. And should be treated as such.
About Us
It all began a looooong time ago. Parents tend to think that once they get a puppy for their child, eventually all responsibility taking care of the dog will be on their shoulders. They come up with all kinds of excuses why they can NOT get a pup. And only the most persistent succeed.
I, to show my parents my devotion, for years walked half of the dogs in the neighborhood. Great Danes were non-existent, so numerous shepherds comprised my daily dog-walking list.
In 1994 my great efforts materialized in a little pup. We went to numerous shows and trainings, and although the pup was not a show-quality dog, I didn't want to give up and to us - he was the greatest dog. A tragic accident took him away 2 years later...
In 2006 a friend asked me to get him a great dane pup from Europe. And that's how it started. We've imported and raised an impressive number of danes but committing to breeding is hard and takes a lot of experience and responsibility. In 2008 we finally purchased a fawn girl and a black girl. And flew together with them from Europe.
We are extremely selective in breeding. Flying across the world to the right stud - that's the kind of dedication we put into breeding. We do not breed just because we have a dog that possesses a uterus... The dog has to be healthy, intelligent and of show quality to be considered for breeding.
Prices and breeding...
Our pups are $2000-2500. Prices do not depend on what you plan on doing with the dog. Prices are a reflection of the quality only. Mantles, blues and harlequins are traditionally more expensive. Pet and show homes are always preferred. If you decide to breed later on, you will have to commit yourself to all the health testing. Our primary concern is health.
Showing
Even if you are not interested in showing, you have to realize and appreciate why breeders do this.
1. Shows dictate breeders what a modern great dane should look like, which traits are in higher regard, which studs are recommended for breeding etc.
2. Successful show dogs are considered suitable candidates for quality breeding.
What kind of dogs we have
All our dogs are our pride and joy, and our couches bear marks of their sleeping habits. Our toddlers make sure puppies go to new homes "well-prepared".
Of course, we want our dogs to be conformation-wise as correct as possible, health-wise as sound as they can be, and training-wise as smart as we want them to be.
Feeding
There are two components to successful dry food feeding.
1. Human. The owner picks the food with all the right ingredients.
2. Canine. The dog picks the food it likes out of what the owner selected. Our dogs eat Authority, ProPlan, Nutro, Chicken Soup. We also add ProPlan canned salmon.
We've tried raw diet. And it's great. Unfortunately, it's quite time consuming for us so we switched to dry feeding exclusively

Importing
We import throughout the year. Since we can't breed enough to satisfy everybody interested, we decided to go that route. We have exclusive rights on the pups produced a number of Russian and Ukrainian kennels. The biggest drawback is that you will not be able to see the parents in real life. The biggest plus is that you get a pure European bred import from the FIRST generation of champions (traditionally, at least one parent is a champion) for a reasonable price.
Foreign registration takes a bit longer. We provide a free domestic pedigree but if you are interested in an AKC registration for your import, this domestic pedigree will have to be exchanged for an export pedigree ($100 fee is extra). This export pedigree is what AKC wants to see to get your pup AKC registered. If you do not plan on showing or breeding, the domestic pedigree will suffice - it's an official 3-generation pedigree. All imports come with a full registration (unless it's a non-standard color).
Some more...
1. We do not keep waiting lists. People change, plans change. If you really want a pup from us - stay in touch, check the site regularly.
2. We are in Northern VA. If you are not within a driving distance, keep this in mind. "We don't feel comfortable buying a dog sight unseen" won't work. If you are calling us, then you must be aware of the dog's location. Our time is precious and limited. Please, respect that.
3. We've got little kids who are allowed to play with pups regularly.
4. We do NOT have cats.
5. Dogs are walked at least 4 times a day which helps the Buyer to housetrain the pup faster. We do not housetrain the pups that are not staying with us.
6. We do not have a questionnaire but feel free to email us about yourself.
7. All puppy descriptions on the site are true. If we say the dog is heavy, the dog is r-e-a-l-l-y heavy. If the dog is one of the best, the dog is r-e-a-l-l-y one of the best we've had so far. We do not lie, we do not mislead. Every dog deserves the best home.
8. Pups stay with us until they find the right home. That's why in the past 4 years we only had one return.
9. We hardly ever have adults for sale.
10. Feel free to schedule a weekend visit.
- Enjoy the site!
